Mykita
Mykita is an eyewear company that is based the German city of Berlin and was founded by herald Gottschling and Philipp Haffmans in 2004.
The Mykita line features an entire collection of sunglasses that are fashioned from stainless steel sheet metal that do not require screws for which the company received an iF product design award in 2007.
The company continues to create unique sunglasses collections with a limited edition line of aviator sunglasses in 2006, and a line of glasses created from cellulose acetate later in the year as an unusual side line.
Due to their innovative designs Mykita is considered a very modern luxury brand that gives wearers the power to stand out from the crowd, while staying extremely fashionable.
Their line of metal sunglasses includes eyewear that was created with avant garde designs in mind as well as elegance. Each pair is lightweight, which makes them quite comfortable to wear in daily life.
Each metal pair of sunglasses comes in a specific style after which the purchaser can choose the type of surface colour the metal is coated in as well as the tint of the lenses.
Mykita also has a collection of acetate sunglasses that combine translucent and opaque colours to create bold industrial styles. This collection includes the company’s newest development, inset hinges, and comes in both rounded and sophisticated shapes. The lenses are produced on demand and can be polarized, gradient, or solid.
Of special note is the company’s limited edition 2010 line entitled Flash SS2010M, which are sleek stainless steel ultra light frames that come in a variety of shapes and sizes and are reminiscent of 60’s stars such as Audrey Hepburn.
