Dior
With its headquarters found in the fashion capital of the world, the Parisian Dior label has one of the most powerful holds on the fashion industry of today. The brand is widely known for its high end clientele and for its signature Dior sunglass line along with many other luxury products.
Founded by Christian Dior in 1946, the haute couture line currently reaches across borders with about 160 boutiques located worldwide with additional plans for expansion.
Dior began manufacturing its trademark sunglasses in the 2000’s when it expanded its accessory and jewellery collection, in particular with watches tailored for men, and with the opening of many new impressive large boutique houses in major cities such as New York City, Moscow, and Tokyo.
The sunglass collection includes a variety of elegant and simple frames for both men and women. The men’s collection is recognized by its wide blue or black tinted lenses that are encased in small metal frames. There are also a few plastic frames for men although this special touch is reserved more for the women’s collections.
As mentioned, the women’s collection of Dior sunglasses are mostly embodied in wide plastic frames with thick sides that contain the trademark elongated D etched into the side. Frames come in a variety of transparent colours as well as some etched jewel work in the more feminine designs. For females the lenses come in a wider selection of tints although each offers excellent ultra violet ray protection.
