Bvlgari

Bvlgari is a luxury brand from Italy that is famous for its high-end goods.  Its logo is depicted in Roman style and is framed from the surname of the founder of the company Sotirios Voulgaris who was Greek.

Although it is very famous for its world renowned Bvlgari sunglasses, it is also known for its other retail lines that include handbags, watches, accessories, fragrances, and even hotels.

Voulgaris started the brand as a jeweller in the Greek village of Kalarities until 1877, when he travelled around the world working in various major cities until landing in Rome, where in 1884 he founded the company as we know it today.

The flagship Bvlgari shop opened in 1905 in via dei Condotti, which now considered one of the most up-scale places to purchase high quality sunglasses and other items.

Throughout the 1970’s the company expanded opening international locations across the world with 230 retail locations open globally today.

Today the pricey Bvlgari symbol is easily recognized for its bold gold links that are set against black steel and featured on sunglasses and other retail items.  You can tell if an item is genuine by the unique serial number that is on every authentic pair of sunglasses and registered with the company itself.

Most of the frames of the Bvlgari line are thick with tinted lenses although the female sunglasses are thinner with lightweight rounded eyepieces.  White, black, and brown are the dominant colours featured in both lines with the occasional glint of colour worked in for the younger crowd.
